The vision of the FPA of Iowa - Ethics/Government Relations Committee is to help members build and maintain a practice based on the highest professional and ethical standards. We will communicate effectively with all of our constituents, including our members, the public, financial services industries, legislatures, and regulatory bodies. The strategies will include providing educational resources that help to implement our vision.
• To recruit, organize, and chair the Government Relations Committee
• To develop awareness of the FPA Code of Professional Ethics
• To coordinate complaint procedures as directed by the FPA Board of Directors and National Ethics Committee
• To communicate to members concerning legislative and regulatory issues
• To provide educational resources to our members
• To develop mutually beneficial relationships with allied associations
• To educate members as to how effectively communicate with legislators
• To develop the capability to influence legislation and rulemaking
If you are a legislator or planner and would like to talk with a committee member in-depth on a pending issue, visit our Government Relations Committee web page.

One of the goals of the FPA of Iowa’s Public Relations Committee is to promote awareness of financial planning to the public. The association has hired professional writers to create articles that address the public’s financial concerns. Each month three are written. The articles are written to attract readers and provide a valuable public service. They are sent at no charge to the media. For a complete listing of available articles, visit our Press Room. If you would like to receive emails and press releases directly from the Iowa chapter, email us at office@fpaiowa.org or call the FPA Office at 515-987-8344.
